Final Phase Concrete · Accessibility
Accessibility on this site.
Here's what we've built into this site, what we're aiming at, and how to tell us when something here gets in your way.
We build this site to WCAG 2.2 level AA.
That's the target. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, level AA, cover contrast, keyboard operation, text sizing, form labelling and a long list of conditions besides, and we wrote the markup, the styling and every interactive part of this site against them.
A target isn't a certificate, and we won't pretend otherwise.
We want this site to work for someone running a screen reader, someone driving it from the keyboard alone, and someone who needs the text at double size. Where it falls short, we'd sooner say so here than leave you to discover it on your own.
Nobody outside this company has checked this site. There's been no independent accessibility audit, no report and no outside sign-off of any kind. So we don't claim full conformance or one hundred percent compliance. As gaps surface, we'll list them right here on this page, along with what we plan to do about each one.
What we have already built in.
These are features of the site today, not plans for later.
Structure and keyboard access
- Semantic HTML with real landmarks: a header, a main region, a navigation region and a footer on every page
- Headings run in order, one h1 per page, and levels never skip
- A skip link sits first in the tab order, so keyboard users can jump straight past the navigation
- Focus outlines stay visible on links, buttons and form controls
- The main navigation, the mobile menu, the service tabs, the accordions and the image viewer all work from the keyboard
- Escape closes the mobile menu, an open navigation panel and the image viewer; the arrow keys move between images and between tabs
Text, colour and images
- Type sits in relative units and scales when you raise the text size in your browser
- We pick colour contrast against the WCAG 2.2 AA thresholds
- Photographs carry alt text describing what's genuinely in the frame
- Decorative layers, such as the grain and scrim over a hero image, stay hidden from assistive technology
The quote form
- Every input has a label tied to it, so clicking the label moves focus into the field
- The markup flags required fields, so colour alone never carries the message
- Validation messages appear as text beside the field they belong to
Reduced motion turns the movement off.
Set your operating system to reduce motion and your browser tells this site so. You don't have to hunt for a switch here. Turn it on once in macOS, Windows, iOS or Android, and every page reads that preference and drops the movement.
- Parallax on hero images stops; the image holds still
- Scroll-triggered reveals and the page transition drop away, so content is simply there
- The custom cursor effect switches off entirely
- Animation and transition times fall to near zero across the site
- Smooth scrolling reverts to an instant jump
What nobody has verified.
Automated checkers catch a slice of the problem and miss the rest. Passing one proves very little.
We also can't test every browser, screen reader and device in combination. If one of them breaks something for you, tell us. That's the only way we find out.
known accessibility issues, if any
Tell us if something here blocks you.
Send the page address, what you were trying to do, and what happened instead. If you know the browser and any assistive software you were running, include that too; it saves us a great deal of guessing. We'll reply. And we'll tell you what we can fix and roughly when.

If the website itself is the obstacle, phone us instead, and we'll answer any question about our work, take your project details and price the job without you touching this site at all.
